Something crazy happened today. We were supposed to move to a new server before 23.59. Something unexpected happened. Nebula shutdown the server at 14.00, formatted it and installed new OS for next customer.
When this happened I had downloaded most of the data, but many of my own projects were lost for good
All MUD backups are OK anyhow.
I wanted some kind of compensation from Nebula, so I mailed them about the situation. They promised the following hardware for FREE for one year:
- Dual P4-2.6 GHz
- 1 Gb DDR
- 120 Gb RAID-1 (mirrored) HD for the OS+MUD
So.. anyway thanks for everyone for donations. We are still planning to use the hardware and cash we received.. maybe we get some wicked ideas for another server..let's see.
So.. now we have a home for next 12 months.
